The Spires 2020\2021 Season
Greetings Spires homeowners and fellow skiers,
It’s been a bumpy ride since Schweitzer closed due to COVID-19 in March. Not only did we lose over a month of the ski season because of the closure, but it also limited the mountain biking this summer. With the shuttle bus shut down for COVID-19 it definitely made getting around on the lower trails a little difficult.
Considering what is going on around the world with a closure in the Alps and restrictions in other states, we are thrilled to be here in Idaho and have Schweitzer open for operations. We want to give a big shout out of appreciation for Tom Chasse efforts to keep Schweitzer safe but keeping it open. It hasn’t been easy and we’re thankful for what Tom and his crew have been able to accomplish.
Speaking of thankful, with the early snow this month, we were able to groom the “Get Back Trail” to the top of the Southridge December 17th, the earliest date ever. We are now fully groomed from the triple through The Spires, yay!
Schweitzer Mountain Resort now has 9 out of 10 lifts open so the mountain is opening up. Time to get out there and explore. For some additional fun on the mountain Schweitzer Mountain Resort will be hosting the moonlight snowshoe hike on December 30th. This is always a fun event and the weather is looking great for a night hike in the snow.
Please be respectful of your fellow skiers and be safe out there. If we all work together, we can have a great ski season.
